INTRODUCTION
This application shows the separation of three groups of compounds in parallel: non-nutritive sweeteners, organic acids and xanthine derivatives.
ABSTRACT
Parallel separation of non-nutritive sweeteners, organic acids and xanthine derivatives – acesulfame-K (CAS 55589-62-3), benzoic acid (CAS 65-85-0), saccharin (CAS 81-07-2), sorbic acid (CAS 110-44-1), caffeine (CAS 58-08-2) and aspartame (CAS 22839-47-0) – on an ARION® Plus C18, 5.0 µm column (150 mm × 4.6 mm, ARI-5720-LK46). Gradient elution with acetonitrile : methanol : 17.5 mmol/L KH2PO4 / 0.1 mol/L NaOH (pH = 6.0), flow rate 1.3 to 1.5 mL/min, ambient temperature, UV detection at 214 and 230 nm. All six analytes are resolved within about 19 minutes in a single run.
