INTRODUCTION
Aflatoxins are Group 1 carcinogens and are a natural product of mould. Mycotoxines are monitored worldwide and allowed concentration limits depend not only on the territory, but also on the food/feed matrix and are given by local administrations.
ABSTRACT
LC/MS determination of aflatoxins B1, B2, G1 and G2 on an ARION® Plus C18, 2.2 µm column (100 mm × 2.1 mm, ARI-5720-EI21). Gradient elution with A: 5 mM ammonium formate / 0.2 % formic acid and B: methanol / 0.2 % formic acid at 0.35 mL/min and 40 °C. Each aflatoxin is monitored by two MRM transitions (B1 313.07 → 284.9 / 240.9; B2 315.09 → 286.9 / 259; G1 329.07 → 310.9 / 198.9; G2 331.08 → 312.9 / 189.1). All four analytes elute between 4 and 5.2 minutes; the note also shows real analyses of peppers and Brazil nuts.
