Fast isocratic determination of denatonium benzoate (Bitrex, CAS 3734-33-6) in ethanol on an ARION® Plus C18, 5.0 µm column (250 mm × 4.6 mm, ARI-5720-LM46). Mobile phase A/B 50/50 (v/v), A: acetonitrile, B: 0,5 % H3PO4 in Mili-Q water (pH = 2), flow rate 2.0 ml/min, injection 20 µl, ambient temperature, detection at 230 nm (ref. 550 nm, 100 nm BW). Benzoic acid and denatonium are both eluted in under 2.5 minutes, the analyte at 2.11 min. A UV spectrum of the analyte is included.
