This application shows a selectivity comparison of different C18 phases on a QC mixture. It compares the hydrophobicity parameter of ARION® and ASTRA® HPLC columns with selected columns from other manufacturers.
ABSTRACT
Selectivity comparison of five C18 HPLC columns – ASTRA® C18-HE, ARION® Plus C18, Eclipse XDB-C18, HyperClone BDS and Hypersil BDS (all 150 mm × 4.6 mm) – using a QC test mixture of uracil, acetophenone, toluene and naphthalene. Isocratic elution with water/methanol 15/85 (v/v) at 1.0 ml/min and 25 °C, UV detection at 284 nm, injection volume 1.0 µl. Retentions of all four probes are compared relative to the uracil (dead-volume) peak to rank the columns' hydrophobicity.
