The chemical pollution cause huge damage to the aquatic environment. The simultaneous determination of pollutants with different physico-chemical properties, such as pesticides, metabolites, personal care products, plastic-related chemicals is always challenging. The application shows a sensitive LC/MS method for fast determination of diverse group of pollutants in river water.
ABSTRACT
Sensitive LC-MS/MS method for the fast simultaneous determination of 46 chemicals of emerging concern (CECs) – pesticides, their metabolites, personal care products and plastic-related chemicals – in river water, on a CHROMSHELL® C18 Plus, 2.6 µm column (50 mm × 2.1 mm, CSH-5722-GG21). Gradient elution with A: 5 mM ammonium formate in water and B: 5 mM ammonium formate in MeOH at 0.350 mL/min and 40 °C, injection volume 100 µL, MS/MS Low Mass detection with bentazone D6, isoproturon D6 and simazine D10 as internal standards. All analytes elute within about 8 minutes; LODs run from 2.1 µg/L (atrazine) to 8.9 µg/L (dichlorvos), calculated from real surface river water samples.
